Chestnut Flats wind power project

enXco, EDF Energies Nouvelles’ US subsidiary, announced it has signed a purchase agreement to acquire from Gamesa Energy USA, 100% of the equity interest in Chestnut Flats Wind and all wind power project assets owned by the special purpose company. Full ownership will be transfer to enXco, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions, which is expected by the end of 2011.

Chestnut Flats wind power project, developed and built by Gamesa Energy USA, is located in Logan Township, Blair County, northwest of Altoona, Pennsylvania. The wind farm utilizes 18 G90 and one G87 Gamesa wind turbines with a rated capacity of two megawatts. Delmarva Power and Light Company, a subsidiary of PHI, will purchase the energy produced under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement.

This acquisition marks the first operational wind farm asset of EDF EN in Pennsylvania. It will grow the Group’s generation portfolio and will strengthen its position in the USA.
