Four solar energy plants to be set up in Andhra Pradesh

Each of the solar energy units will have a capacity of 5 MW. “The company has received Central Government permissions to set up these units,” Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for Information Technology (Andhra Pradesh), said. “This will go a long way in meeting the ever growing demand for power in the State,” the Minister said.

These solar power plants will come up at Mulugu (Warangal district), Siddipet (Medak), Aler (Nalgonda) and Nellore. Each MW of solar power would require an investment of Rs 14 crore, an IT ministry official said.

Meanwhile, the Minister will leave for Jaipur to attend Pravasi Bharatiya meeting there. He said he would invite non-resident Indians to the partnership summit scheduled in Hyderabad next week.
