Tennesseans moving to electric vehicles and solar power for good reasons

Tennesseans moving to electric cars, solar energy for good reasons. Regarding the Dec. 28 letter, “Coal fuels plants that fuel Leaf,” the owner of the Nissan Leaf to which the writer referred, myself and others are displacing their electrical use with solar photovoltaic production from home and/or work.

Tennessee already makes solar panels and will be making the electric car Leaf in Smyrna next year.

This is a good way to support your local economy, create local jobs and keep the environment clean and quiet. If 20 percent of our local transportation was electric, I think it would make a big difference to those suffering from asthma, allergies and respiratory problems. It would also reduce the ambient noise level in the city.
