EASE, Europe?s energy storage association, was established

Enel and 12 other European major energy companies and research centres set up in Brussels the European Association for the Storage of Energy (EASE), with the aim to promote the storage of energy in Europe.

The creation of EASE is the achievement of a task force created by the European Commission in 2009 to promote storage of energy, especially of electricity, as a driver towards a more sustainable, flexible and secure energy system.

Indeed, it can grant competitiveness to a number of strategic services aimed at enhancing the development of renewable sources, at ensuring a balance between energy demand and supply, at efficiently manage electricity transmission and distribution and at disseminating energy efficiency practices.
