Mytrah Energy aims at 5000 MW installed wind energy capacity by 2017 news

Mytrah Energy Ltd, formerly known as Caparo Energy Ltd, has unveiled plans to set up large-scale wind farm plants across the country, aiming at an installed wind power capacity of 5000 MW by 2017. The company also unveiled a new brand identity with logo symbolising Sun’s rays. The name ‘Mytrah’ means the Sun in Sanskrit.

"While our core values remain the same, this is an important milestone in our group’s history as it reiterates our identity and commitment to create a sustainable future for our country," Ravi Kailas, chairman and CEO of Mytrah Energy, said in a statement.

Mytrah Energy (India) Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mytrah Energy Ltd, which is listed on AIM of the London Stock Exchange.

Mytrah Eenergy has entered into business partnership agreements with Suzlon Energy and Gamesa India for new wind turbines projects.

The company, with a current capacity of 67.2 MW, is targeting 1,000 MW of wind power capacity by March 2013, of which 500 MW are expected to be ready for commissioning by March 2012.
