The Tesla Roadster will drive the message of environmental responsibility at Berlin Fashion Week’s “Green Avantgarde,“ which showcases some of the world’s most exciting and environmentally friendly designers.

The Tesla Roadster is the only zero-emission sports car in the world – the only electric car with lithium ion batteries that is both fun and efficient. More than 100 owners in Germany recharge their electric vehicles Roadsters from Germany’s clean electricity grid – and many of them opt for the greenest possible energy supply from their utility providers.

Tesla’s industry-leading powertrain and commitment to products that are sustainable but sexy make the Roadster the hottest fashion accessory for young designers such as Arrey Kono, who designs pieces at the intersection of art and fashion, using unconventional combinations of material. Tesla Roadsters will shuttle models, designers and other VIPs all week in Berlin.

The Roadster will also be featured with works by Julia Starp, who designs high-fashion women’s wear using sustainable materials such as organic cotton, peace silk, hemp and bamboo. Starp produces one-of-a-kind haute couture garments that have adorned celebrities including Birte Glang, Katja Flint, Sarah Maria Besgen, Tokessa Martinius and Viola Möbius.

"I want to prove that fashion, beauty, individuality and comfort do not conflict with sustainability — and that’s exactly what the Tesla Roadster demonstrates, too,” said Starp, who lives and works in Hamburg.

Tesla’s role in Berlin Fashion Week comes weeks before the grand opening of Tesla’s showroom in Milan on Feb. 11. Tesla’s first store in Italy is in the heart of Europe’s fashion and design capital, steps from designer boutiques, La Scala Opera House and the famed Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Tesla also has partnerships with some of the most exciting fashion brands in Europe, including TAG Heuer, Bikkembergs and Belstaff.

Tesla’s goal is to produce a full range of electric cars with lithium ion batteries, from premium sports cars to mass market vehicles – relentlessly driving down the cost of electric vehicles.
