Iman Isari recalled that design, drawings, consulting, supervision, construction, installation and commissioning of the wind power plant will be implemented in 10 phases.
"In each stage, some 100 megawatts of electricity will be produced… and 3,000 direct and indirect job opportunities will be generated," Isari said.
The Phase Zero of the Ghadir power plant will be launched by the end of the week and 55 kilowatts of electricity generated in this phase will enter the national grid.
Construction of the Phase One of the power plant will begin in the near future. Iran is in the vanguard of wind turbines and power plants technology in the Middle East.
Currently, 660-kilowatt wind turbines are constructed by domestic engineers. Only some raw materials and electronic parts are imported, Persian monthly Payam-e Nirou wrote.
The country’s wind energy industry includes various companies which conduct measures such as doing research and pilot wind farm projects, conducting feasible studies on launching wind power plant, designing wind farm, producing and assembling wind turbine’s parts, inaugurating and repairing wind power plants, and monitoring production of wind turbine’s parts.
The country is a member of the Global Wind Energy Council. Studies conducted by domestic consulting firms show that the country has the capacity to generate over 40,000 megawatts of electricity through launching more wind power plants.
With contribution of private investors and support of government, the country can use better of wind energy. Private investors have submitted applications for launching wind power plants with entire capacity of 800 megawatts. Once a portion of required credits are supplied by credit funds or banks, private sector can play a significant role in launching wind power plants.
