The project, funded by the Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand is one of the world’s largest rural, solar electrification efforts. BP Solar’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Steve Westwell said, we are very pleased to be working with Solartron. This contract is the first and the largest of its kind supplied by BP Solar’s manufacturing plant in Sydney.
“It demonstrates the emerging acceptance of solar power as an electricity supply source. This contract will benefit over 500,000 people in Thailand who will use solar power as their prime energy, a source which we in the western world take for granted. This is a great export award for Australia.”
The PEA government funded project has strict conditions demanding supply of local manufactured product. Solartron Co Ltd the sole manufacturer of Solar Modules in Thailand have recently constructed a state of the art solar module manufacturing plant using BP Solar materials sourced and imported from BP Solar in Sydney, Australia.
