Dealers on the Program purchase carbon offsets that balance off all the emissions a driver will create over a year of their vehicle ownership. The offsets are supplied by LivClean, a top ranked carbon offset retailer by the David Suzuki/Pembina Institute. LivClean invests in emission-reducing projects that include activities like renewable wind energy farms, diverting waste from landfill, and using alternative fuels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. When joining the EcoDrive Program, Dealers receive showroom marketing collateral that helps create an eco-positive purchase experience for their buyers. Car owners are issued a certificate directly from LivClean confirming the carbon offset purchase on their behalf, along with a vehicle decal and key tag to announce their eco-driving status.
