NexGen Energy Announces New Hawaiian Wind Power Project

NexGen Energy, a leading owner and operator of distributed energy systems, will assume the responsibilities of owning the wind turbines project, while Hawaii Big Island Beef will receive reliably priced power for the next ten years.

“On-site wind power can deliver significant long-term cost savings as well as predictability when the conditions are right,” said Leo Kaniela Caires of Hawaii-based Gen-X Energy Development LLC, NexGen Energy’s development partner. “We’re glad that we can help bring these benefits to Hawaii Big Island Beef and Hawaii’s agricultural economy.”

Late last year, NexGen Energy announced its first wind farm in Hawaii which is currently in permitting.
