SwissINSO Enhanced Research & Development Capability

LESO is completing the installation of a new and unique laboratory, including $2 million worth of front-line technology designed for plasma-assisted deposition of nanocomposite solar coatings, thin-film analysis and optical characterization. This setup will be used for development and pilot production of new surface treatments and colors of SwissINSO’s unique opaque solar thermal panels. In conjunction with this implementation, two new positions at LESO have been financed by SwissINSO to run this nanotechnology research, a Postdoctoral scientist and a doctorate student.

Dr. Yves Ducommun, SwissINSO’s CEO, stressed that this development was a further critical step in the strong collaboration already in place between LESO and SwissINSO. "Due to this expansion of our R&D capabilities, we will be able to develop more leading-edge coatings and produce custom-designed colors in a more timely manner, thus responding very quickly and precisely to architectural requests for aesthetical curtain wall solar collecting solutions."

SwissINSO, located in Lausanne, Switzerland, utilizes its intellectual property assets to provide environmentally friendly, innovative solar energy solutions and related technology to meet growing global needs.

The company’s goal is to become a world leader in turn-key solutions using renewable energy for the purification and desalination of water and the air cooling of buildings.
