EDP Renováveis signs long-term agreement to sell green certificates in Poland

This agreement enables EDPR to secure an important part of its revenue line from wind energy projects in Poland and will provide a higher cash flow visibility for the long-term.

"This is EDP Renováveis’s first wind farm in Poland and our first agreement with Energa and we applaud Energa for making a long-term commitment to support renewable energy projects in Poland," said Joao Costeira, Chief Operating Officer of EDP Renováveis Europe. "EDP Renováveis values long term agreements with our customers and we look forward to working with Energa, one of the largest suppliers of electricity in Poland."

"We are pleased that such renowned international investor has chosen our company as a solid and professional partner to establish a long-term cooperation. We estimate, that so called “green” property rights produced by this wind power park shall amount to 250.000 MWh per year. ENERGA, as the biggest supplier of green energy, is going to develop its own ecological energy sources, but the company is open to the business cooperation with external contractors, for which the best example is the agreement with EDP Renováveis – underlines Arkadiusz Marat, President of the Board of Energa."

Located in Margonin commune, Poland, the project is already producing clean, renewable energy.
