Wind Energy Company Announces Plans to Manufacture Wind Turbines in Clovis

Clovis Industrial Development Corporation President Lee Malloy and Clovis Mayor Gayla Brumfield announced that Vert-I-Go Wind Energy, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Abundant Energy, L.L.C., of Plano, Texas, plans to establish a wind turbine manufacturing facility and a five megawatt wind farm in the Clovis area utilizing its proprietary mid-sized, vertical-axis wind turbine technology.

Vert-I Go Wind Energy, L.L.C. has reached a preliminary agreement with the City of Clovis, New Mexico, to purchase six acres of land and obtain an option on and additional thirty-four acres for the purpose of developing a wind farm using a proprietary new vertical-axis wind turbine technology exclusively licensed to Vert-I-Go Wind Energy, L.L.C. for installations nationally and internationally.

Additionally, the company plans to establish a manufacturing and assembly facility in Clovis to service its local activities as well as its national and international needs.

Vert-I-Go Wind Energy, L.L.C. selected Clovis for its initial wind farm development because of its unique mix of strong wind resources, proactive community leaders, efficient rail and infrastructure, and quality local suppliers.

The company indicated it will break ground on the project in the first half of the year.

Vert-I-Go Wind Energy, L.L.C., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abundant Energy, L.L.C., of Plano, Texas, announced today that it has reached a preliminary agreement with the City of Clovis, New Mexico, to purchase six acres of land south of the city landfill and obtain an option for an additional contiguous thirty-four acres for the purpose of developing a five megawatt wind farm utilizing its proprietary mid-sized, vertical-axis wind turbine technology.

Additionally, the company plans to establish a manufacturing and assembly facility in Clovis to service its local activities and serve as its U.S. turbine production headquarters.

Vert-I-Go Wind Energy, L.L.C. selected Clovis for its initial wind farm development because of its unique mix of strong wind resources, proactive community leaders, efficient rail and infrastructure, and quality local suppliers.

“The renewable energy potential in and around Clovis is tremendous, but it remains untapped,” said Kurt Knapton, CEO of Abundant Energy, L.L.C. “Our mid-sized, vertical-axis wind turbines are the right fit for Clovis because they solve two stubborn wind power problems that have thwarted past efforts to harness the wind in the area: namely, transmission line dependency and aviation radar interference concerns. Because Vert-I-Go wind turbines work with distribution lines (not transmission lines) for grid access, and since our turbines do not rise high enough to cause air base radar interference, we believe our technology paves the way for successful targeted wind farms in Clovis.”

Vert-I-go Wind Energy, L.L.C. also owns another six acre land plot nearby the new property and has a similar option for an additional twenty-four adjoining acres. The company anticipates breaking ground during the first half of the year.

“Not only would we bring wind energy to Clovis, but by locating our U.S. turbine production headquarters here, we can make a larger positive impact on the community in terms of green-tech jobs and long-term economic development,” commented Jim Burns, Abundant Energy, L.L.C. President. “We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the City of Clovis, Curry County, and the people of this great community. We especially thank Mayor Brumfield, City Manager Thomas, the staff of the Clovis Industrial Development Corp. and all the people who have worked with us this past year to help advance our efforts.”

Vert-I-Go Wind Energy, L.L.C., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abundant Energy, L.L.C., develops targeted wind farms that utilize proprietary mid-sized (35kW – 250kW) vertical-axis wind turbines. Vert-I-Go wind turbine technology allows the generation of clean and renewable electricity on the distribution side of the energy grid, thus reducing dependence on transmission line capacity, a key constraint of many wind farm developments.

Abundant Energy, L.L.C., headquartered in Plano, Texas, is an independent renewable energy holding company focused on the manufacture and deployment of leading-edge green energy technology.
