Vestas receives 80 MW order for Germany

The wind power order has been received from the German company Nordwind Handels GmbH & Co. KG, and the contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution as well as a ten-year service agreement.

Installation of the wind turbines will start during the fourth quarter of 2010 and the wind energy project is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2011.

“Vestas has been the perfect partner for us for several years, and we look forward to further strengthening our business relations,” states Carsten Paatsch, Managing Director of Nordwind Handels-GmbH & Co. KG.

Nordwind Handels GmbH & Co. KG, based in Beiersdorf-Freudenberg, is one of Vestas’ largest customers in Germany. Founded in 2003, Nordwind has so far only installed Vestas wind turbines.

“We are very satisfied with this new contract in Germany, which confirms our positive expectations for the German wind energy market. We appreciate the ongoing cooperation with our business partner Nordwind, and we are pleased with their confidence in Vestas’ technology,” says Hans Jørn Rieks, President of Vestas Central Europe.
