Eurus Energy Completes Wind Farm in Oregon

Construction was completed in late December 2009 with energy sales commencing on January 1, 2010 under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Clark County’s Public Utility District Number 1. The wind energy project is sited on 13,000 acres of farmland near Milton-Freewater in Umatilla County.

The wind power project utilizes 63 units of Mitsubishi MWT-62/1.0 wind turbines each rated at 1 MW. This is Eurus Energy America’s ninth project in the United States, bringing its gross installed capacity in the United States to just under 590 MW.

The wind farm is expected to produce enough electricity to power approximately 11,000 homes, displacing over 115,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Blattner Energy acted as Balance of Plant contractor and the Bonneville Power Administration is providing interconnection and transmission service.

"We are very pleased to be playing a role along with the local community, County, State and Federal Government in helping the world move away from its over-reliance on fossil fuels and thank all who have played a part in making this project a reality," said Mark E. Anderson, President and CEO of Eurus Energy.

Eurus Energy America announce also that its 180MW Bull Creek wind farm in Borden County, Texas has achieved commercial operation. It is the largest project completed by Eurus worldwide and is its eighth wind project in the United States. Eurus developed, built, and is now operating the wind farm located near Gail, Texas which is about 50 miles south of Lubbock.

Eurus Energy’s Crescent Ridge I is a 54 MW wind project located in Bureau County, Illinois (approximately 90 miles southwest of Chicago), since 2005.

Eurus Energy’s 41 MW Combine Hills wind farm is located in Milton-Freewater, Oregon (approximately 200 miles east of Portland), since 2003.

With projects in operation since the late 1980s, Eurus Energy continues to be a pioneer in American wind energy through its development of multiple wind projects totalling approximately 250 MW and located between Tehachapi and Mojave in the California desert. Eurus Energy’s most recent wind farm in California, the Oasis Project, achieved commercial operation in 2004.

Eurus Energy America Corporation is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokyo-based Eurus Energy Holdings and is responsible for North American renewable energy investment, now comprising nearly 590 megawatts in wind power generation.
