Google buys output from 160 MW norwegian wind farm

Google has purchased 100% of the output of a 160 MW Norwegian wind power farm to be built south of Stavanger, Norway, through a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA). Zephyr AS is a Norwegian wind power company that develops projects in southern and central Norway. The company was established in 2006 and has since then developed a number of wind power projects up to license.

Currently, we have wind power projects under development in the counties of Sogn og Fjordane, Rogaland, Sør-Trøndelag and Nord-Trøndelag. We have also played an important role in the construction of several wind farms; including Mehuken II and III, as well as Midtfjellet I and II.

Zephyr is owned by Østfold Energi AS, Vardar AS, EB Kraftproduksjon AS, and the Danish energy company DONG Energy Power AS.

We believe in constructive dialogue and arrange meetings with the public, municipalities, landowners and anyone who may be affected with our projects.

Zephyr is responsible for the daily operation of the wind power company Kvalheim Kraft DA, which owns Mehuken wind farm in Sogn og Fjordane county in western Norway.

Zephyr was in 2010 responsible for expanding the Mehuken wind farm with eight new turbines. We are also currently responsible for the construction of Mehuken III, which is a repowering project, replacing five older turbines with three new and more effective turbines. The project is due to be completed during 2015.
