Bigger, better WINDPOWER reflects industry growth

Mark Bakke is AWEA’s Manager of Member Relations and Exhibitions.

As the U.S. wind industry continues to mature and become a major part of America’s electricity mix, WINDPOWER needs to advance with the times. That’s why WINDPOWER 2016 in New Orleans, May 23-26, is scheduled to be bigger and better than last year.

This year over 400 exhibitors, many of them new firms, will be filling a show floor that is nearly 25 percent larger.  All of the major firms you would expect to see will be there, like GE Renewable Energy, Siemens, Vestas, Goldwind, Gamesa, Nordex and many more.

But there will be over 100 smaller firms exhibiting as well.

Many of these are new entrants with new products to market for release at WINDPOWER.  There will be an international flavor, with exhibitors from Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Spain and Italy on the show floor.  Asia will be represented by firms from China, Japan and South Korea.  Here in North America, Canada, Mexico and of course the U.S. will be represented.  From around the globe, next month the wind industry will gather New Orleans to experience Generation Wind.

Besides a larger exhibition, we’re also offering a larger menu of educational value for your registration dollar.  This year the registration is an all-in-one pass that gives every attendee full show access to all education sessions, the opening reception and show floor networking receptions, plus the three days of exhibits.  The total number of education sessions has more than doubled while the price is less than half of last year’s.

Plus, for your convenience, the conference has been moved directly onto the show floor.  Custom meeting rooms are being built at all corners of the exhibit hall to hold our conference sessions right in the thick of the show floor action.  Plan to attend and you’ll never be more than a few steps away from what you want to see or do, whether it’s sit in a presentation or see a product demonstration in a booth.

Registration is running strong.  With everything on one level – all combined on the show floor—it’s going to be busy.  To get the most value out of your visit to WINDPOWER 2016 we encourage you to register now at www.windpowerexpo.org and then start planning.  Download the show app from our website and start planning your schedule and your exhibitor booths to visit.  Be sure to see not just the name-brand firms you already know, but also some of those 100 new entrants that just might have the solution your business needs.

American wind energy is reaching new heights;  WINDPOWER 2016 is your chance to get in on the action.
