Vattenfall to build 400 MW wind farm offshore Denmark

Sweden’s state-owned Vattenfall won a concession to build a 400-megawatt wind power farm Horns Rev 3 offshore western Denmark, the company said on Friday.

The wind farm will be able produce electricity for 450,000 households from 2017, and will boost Vattenfall’s offshore wind assets in Europe from the current 1,000 MW.

Wind power met about 39 percent of total electricity consumption in Denmark last year, the highest share in the world.
