Sempra and Con Edison Buy Nebraska Wind Farm

Sempra Energy and Consolidated Edison Inc. agreed to buy a 75-megawatt wind farm in Nebraska.

Sempra’s U.S. Gas & Power unit and Consolidated Edison Development each will own half of the Broken Bow II wind farm in Custer County, according to a statement today. Sempra will operate and maintain the plant, which last month began providing power to about 30,000 homes. Terms weren’t disclosed.

The two companies earlier this year agreed to share in developing five solar projects in California and Nevada.

“We believe that this first joint wind project will be as successful and beneficial as our joint solar facilities,” Mark Noyes, vice president and chief operating officer of Consolidated Edison Development, said in the statement.
