NextEra completed a Canadian wind energy center

The wind farm will provide power to the municipalities of Bluewater and South Huron under Ontario’s feed-in tariff program.

NextEra Energy, the second-largest U.S. utility owner, has been approved by the Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to build a $300 million wind farm near the Lake Huron shoreline.

NextEra’s Canada unit expects to begin construction in the third quarter and complete the 60 wind turbines, 102-megawatt Goshen Wind Energy Centre by early 2015.
