2013 to be record year for offshore wind energy

AXYS to provide consultation for Virginia offshore wind power project

AXYS Technologies Inc (AXYS) is pleased to have been chosen by the Timmons Group as a member of their team recently awarded a research project funded by the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy (DMME) to explore new methods of metocean and offshore environmental monitoring.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced on March 26, 2014 that the Timmons Group proposal was one of the four successful responses to the DMME request for proposal (RFP). The results from the research and development activities conducted through these project awards will help lower costs and risks for commercial offshore wind power development on the Outer Continental Shelf off the coast of Virginia.

The Timmons Group team has developed a comprehensive approach to advance the current state-of-the-science in metocean and environmental monitoring. Their team includes an interdisciplinary group of recognized experts in the fields required to perform the services required for this contract.

AXYS are world leaders of offshore wind resource assessment and remote sensing integration and will be providing comprehensive consultation services in this domain.
