Spain renewable energy projects face bankruptcy after subsidy cuts

The renewable energy sector in Spain, which has grown exponentially since 2005, has accumulated a debt of more than 40,000 million euros to banks.

The renewable energy sector in Spain, which has grown exponentially since 2005, has accumulated a debt of more than 40,000 million euros to banks, half in photovoltaic solar energy projects and the other half equally between wind energy and concentrated solar power, said the general secretary of Protermosolar, Luis Crespo.
