Gamesa named a leader in sustainability

Gamesa has been rated as Leader in its sector (renewable energy equipment) and has been named a “Gold Class” company in “The Sustainability Yearbook 2013” published by RobecoSAM in collaboration with KPMG. The Sustainability Yearbook analyses the sustainability performance of companies across the world.

The company scored the best mark (72%) in its category (average score was 52%), acknowledging its commitment with sustained growth, its ability to long-term value creation and its progress in the field of sustainability.

The purpose of the report, released annually since 1999, is to establish a global ranking of the companies most committed to sustainability that also offer the greatest real upside potential for all investors.

The yearbook analyses the sustainability practices of more than 2,000 companies across 58 sectors, examining the performance of companies according to economic, environmental and social criteria. This year, only 67 companies have been awarded the “Gold class” rating, which is 2.5% of all assessed companies.

Gamesa forms part of the main international sustainability indexes: Dow Jones Sustainability, FTSE4Good and Ethibel.
