Wind energy PTC promotes Montana jobs

Here in the Treasure State, we have available to us some of the best opportunities for wind energy in the country. But at the end of this calendar year, the production tax credit is set to expire, hindering the potential for increased energy independence, and indicating major job losses for Montana.

This next Congress needs to focus on those investments that bring real economic returns and jobs for our workforce. On Thursday, Dec. 13, there will be a forum on discussing the importance of extending the wind production tax credit held at MSU Billings’ Downtown Campus at 5:30 p.m. Please consider attending this forum to learn more about the very real benefits extending the PTC would have and the trouble our state will face if an extension fails. Come take part in the conversation on our country’s energy future.

The extension of the production tax credit is critical to ensuring continued investment in a broader energy portfolio in our country. For those of you who cannot attend the forum, I urge you to contact Sen. Max Baucus, Sen. Jon Tester, and Rep. Dennis Rehberg to thank them for their unanimous public support on this issue.
