Concentrating Solar Power: BrightSource Energy Names Mathew Brett Senior Vice President

Brett brings two decades of experience in international energy development and project financing to his role at BrightSource. "Mathew’s deep understanding of international energy development and project finance will help BrightSource capture the growing global demand for cost-effective and reliable clean power," said John Woolard, president and CEO of BrightSource Energy. Brett will be based in London where he will expand the company’s global operations.

Prior to joining BrightSource Energy, Brett co-founded and served as the European CEO of Advanced Power AG, a leading independent developer of gas-fired power plants. While at Advanced Power, he was a member of the advisory board and the senior management committee. During his tenure at InterGen, Brett served as Director of Investment and Portfolio Management and led business development projects throughout Europe, including the development and sale of the Knapsack Power Project and the Aldbrough Gas Storage Company. He began his career in finance with Ernst & Young and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.

Brett holds a B.A. in Business Studies from the University of Hertfordshire.
