Wind power in Romania: Romanian consortium signs deal with Sinovel for wind turbines

A Romanian consortium has just signed agreements with Chinese firm Sinovel Wind Group for supply and services of equipment. Consortium members C- Tech SRL and Rokura SRL are planning to develop wind farms with a total capacity of 1,200 megawatts and their agreement with Sinovel runs until 2016, according to the Romanian Economy Ministry, whose representatives were on an official visit to China between May 27 and 29.

The Sinovel Group is China’s largest wind power manufacturer. The wind farm will be developed in the Dobragea region, in South Eastern Romania.

During the visit to China, investment from Chinese banking institutions and investments by other Chinese companies in Romania were also discussed. Romania’s Business Minister Lucian Isar headed the Romanian delegation.
